 International Paris Air Show Le Bourget du 15 to 21 June 2009

Introduction: a brief history of the Show
 
Next year the International Paris Air Show – Le Bourget celebrates its hundredth anniversary.
The first Show was held in 1909 at the Grand Palais, Paris. From 1909 to 1949,  the Show took
place between November and December at the Grand Palais.
The first flying displays were seen in Orly in 1949, then at Le Bourget in 1951.
From 1953, the Show was rescheduled to take place in June at Le Bourget.

(1) On entering the Show visitors will be asked to present a business card to demonstrate their trade status; this does not have
to be within the aeronautics field.

The general public will have access to an area next to the runway equipped with a grandstand and giant screens, from where
they can enjoy 4 hours of flying displays every day.

3 - Travel to the Show:

 

By public transport (Recommended routes)

Metro

 Metro line 7, change at « La Courneuve 8 mai 1945 »,
and take the RATP Show shuttle bus or RATP bus 152 to
« Michelet Parc des Expositions ».  Metro line 12,
change at Porte de la Chapelle and take RATP bus 350
to « Michelet Parc des Expositions ».

RER (line B)

From Châtelet, Gare du Nord, Charles de Gaulle airport,
take the RER B, change at Le Bourget station
and take the RATP shuttle bus to the Show or RATP
bus 152 to « Michelet Parc des Expositions ».

4 - Exhibitors and aircraft:

List of exhibitors and aircraft:

  • The 2007 list of exhibitors and aircraft can be consulted on the Show website. The database is available for rent:
    click on “Database rental” under the heading « Essential information ».
  • The 2009 list of exhibitors will be available from April 2009.
  • The 2009 list of aircraft will be available from April 2009.

Flying displays:
Flying displays take place daily from 12.30 pm to around 4.30 pm. The display programme will be available on the website
from early June 2009.

Tours of aircraft on the ground and flights:

  • Tours of aircraft on the ground can only be authorized on site by exhibitors during the Show.
  • For safety reasons, passengers are not permitted on board aircraft presented in flight during the Show.

Can I travel to the Show in a private aircraft?
If you would like to travel to the show in your own private aircraft, air traffic at Le Bourget is managed by Aéroports de Paris,

5 - Visiting the Show:

Services during the Show:
For all visitors, the show offers

  • A number of restaurants, snacks et bars to cater to all needs.
  • A creche at entrance L3, open 15–21 June 2009, 9.30 am–6 pm, for children aged 3–16 at a cost of €3 per child
  • Left luggage facilities at entrances O and L3, open 15–21 June 2009, 7 am–7.30 pm at a cost of €3 per item
  • For an additional fee, grandstand seats (in the general public area at the northern end of the Show) will be
    available 19–21 June 2009 during Show opening hours. It will be possible to reserve grandstand seats when buying tickets
    to the Show online from January 2009

 Can I bring my pet to the Show?
No, pets are not allowed at the Show (except for assistance animals).

 Disabled visitors:
Disabled visitors will be given priority at all Show entrances.
Parking spaces reserved for the disabled are located close to entrances L1 and L3.

 The Air & Space Museum at Le Bourget
