 47th International Paris Air Show

The 47th International Paris Air Show held from 18 to 24 June 2007 was a success. Both exhibitors and sponsors, as well as trade visitors and the general public, all contributed to its success. As this brief review shows, the figures speak for themselves.

  • 131 217 sq. m. of exhibition area sold (halls, village, chalets, external buildings)
  • 192 000 sq. m. of static aircraft display area

  • 142 aircraft on display, including over 40 in the flying displays

  • Over 770 000 visitors in total (trade, public, official delegations, press, exhibitors)
  • 150 official defence delegations from 60 countries
  • 40 transport/civil aviation delegations from 20 countries
  • Over 3 500 registered journalists

 Ever popular with the general public

The Show clearly remains popular with the general public as 160,000 visitors flocked to Le Bourget airfield during the three days open
to the public to admire the flying displays and equipment on show.
The French President acknowledged this presence by saying that he felt “public enthusiasm for the Show demonstrates our country’s
strong connection with the industry”.

 Business & Technology Forum

This year, a dedicated space was available in Hall 6 for professionals interested in business and technology opportunities.
The “B2B Meetings” were very well attended, with:

  • 417 exhibitors including 100 prime contractors.
  • 220 visitors registered.
  • 6 000 meetings including 4,700 business meetings and 1,300 technology meetings..

 Maximum media exposure, multiple target audiences

The 47th Show boosted the International Paris Air Show’s image thanks to coherent branding and enhanced visibility, through:

  • partnerships with renowned media companies (International Herald Tribune, Financial Times, Le Figaro, Les Echos, Europe 1, le Point, L’Usine Nouvelle)
  • trade press partnerships (Air & Cosmos, Aviation Week, Aerospace Manufacturing, Flight, Flug Revue, Aviation International News) ;
  • a publicity campaign involving (106 smart cars, and posters in Paris and surrounding areas, in train stations, FNAC stores and Carrefour hypermarkets) ;
  • joint promotional campaigns with the Roissy CDG regional tourist board, and with RATP on buses to and from the Show ;
  • signposting designed to help visitors find their way around the Show ; ;
  • and Show merchandise available at official souvenir shops.
